June 23. Afternoon. It has been overcast here most of the day, the sun peeks in and out. What is the temperature of the water?
With so many questions and numbers being thrown around, and planes chopping this coast from left to rigtht...I decided to do something. I called and was transfered to nearly 20 different phone numbers regarding more information about the dispersant-where-how much- when, etc...
Here is a timeline of the Deepwater Horizon Response
Basically- this is what they are telling us that they are doing. Its oil and the gov. so who knows...
and here is a timeline of who knows what and an outrageous chain of unanswered questions by folks who answer our government phones...This IS how it went--
In nearly the order -here are the numbers I called to find out more information in a matter of 30 minutes .
I asked if there was more information regarding how much dispersant was released, and how I could find out this information: The last person I spoke to gave me info on the DPH Responde site...
727-596-8666 Us Coast Guard Operations transferred me to St. Petersburg 727-824-7531 who transferred me to a lady who mentioned that she didnt mean to be abrupt with no information at all to 727-824-7638. From there I was told to call the National Response Center at 1 800 424 8802 to the Clearwater Beach Florida Pollution Control Deptartment at 727-824-7676 to the Officer of the Day general information for the base at 727-824-7638 again to yet another general info line where they wanted my name and number but I refused at 727-824-7670. Then I was transferred to a command center, West Coast Guard at 727-824-7506 and the Federal Office in Tampa at 813-228-2191. I was then told to call the Clearwater Beach FL pollution control at 727-824-7696. Just then the person told me to call the Horizon Response Center who is in charge in NOLA. That joint info center is 985-902-5231 but WAIT that number is no longer working so a message tells you to call the Unified Command Center at 713-323-1670 or 713-323-1671. To volunteer the number is 1-866-448-5816. I was then told to call the US Coast Guart Station at 727-535-1437. But still no info but maybe call St. Petersburg office at 727-502-8770.
The last call I made was a somewhat helpful to what I already knew...at 727-820-3700. Basically she read me what was on the www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com site.
Well what do you know!! Public information...right.
This site gives the daily aircraft used, the amount of oil recovered, skimmed and dispersants used.
They have updated (I think) info here http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/doc/2931/690083/
For example, today the dispersant gallons were: D ISPERSANTS: Surface dispersant used: more than 972,000 gallons
Subsea dispersant used: more than 492,000 gallons
Total dispersant used: more than 1,464,000 gallons
I stayed awake until 5:30 this morning in this nice chair facing the Gulf... Two pelicans fly above me along the coast just then... I wonder if it is the same 2 I continue to see?
Live feed stations need to be set up ALL along these coastal waters, or are they arlready here? We feed on their channels and they can stop them any minute, or take them.
I have been wondering the execution of this piece in my mind,...this creation. Numbers.Ones and Zeros and many many numbers. What are the meaning of these numbers? I should go to an airport and hitch a ride with an instructor...
Jeremy ? Prophecy
What was that bit of information i saw last night in my researches...when the numbers reach 430? or an increase or decrease by 2%. Interesting.
Oil rain. Oil falling from the sky?
Last night the planet was high and bright.
I wonder how my garden grows back home.
